SpaceDeck privacy policy

Summary

SpaceDeck has no accounts, no ads, no analytics SDKs and no tracking. Your flights, tracked flights, position and dose log stay on your device.

What leaves your device

• Space weather data is downloaded from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (services.swpc.noaa.gov). NOAA receives standard request data such as your IP address, as with any website.
• Only if you answer "Did you see it?" for an aurora window, the app sends ENSH an anonymous report: departure and arrival airport codes, the window's start and end time, a position rounded to about 10 km, flight level, Kp, the app's prediction, your answer and the app version. No name, account, device identifier or precise location is included.

Location

Flight mode uses your phone's GPS during a flight you start, to show which window the aurora is on. The aurora globe's location button asks for your position once, to show the aurora chance where you are. Your position is processed only on your device and is never sent to ENSH or anyone else. Flight mode stops automatically after the planned arrival.

Why and how long

Reports are used only to measure and improve the accuracy of the aurora forecast. They are stored on servers in the EU/US used by ENSH's hosting providers, are never sold or shared for marketing, and are kept until no longer needed for that purpose (at most the latest 100,000 reports). Reports cannot be linked back to you.

Purchases

SpaceDeck Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment and billing; ENSH never sees your name, Apple ID or payment details. The app checks your Pro status with Apple on your device.

Notifications

Advisory alerts and aurora reminders are local notifications created on your device. No push token is sent to us.
